Sneak Preview

Marty recently sent me two cartons densely packed - did he use magick? -  with family-historical artifacts.  When I loosened the bonds, things sproinged out all over.  Many of them we had never before seen, nor had we known that they existed.  Next time you read in a book about something precious drawn forth after a long time shoved "far under the eaves in the attic," you can know that that does happen.  Thanks, Marty.

These look to be John Zdrojewski's (our JPZ's) prints
of family photos, mostly of his taking.

Some we've seen before; some are new to us.
There's Johnny as a college student,
just prior to his morph to the late 1970s John,
who starts showing up in color prints
with a beautiful woman.
Wait for it!

See those two stacks in the middle ground?
Those are Eugene's Army papers from China,
including maps, field logbooks, and photos,
and a citation.

Eugene put them them all away in a black metal foot-locker
and never showed them to us.  Why is that?

A grey Army belt-pocket contained
USA and also Chinese Army patches,
marksmanship and other medals,
a Bronze Star,
and a field compass.

Dogtag, wings, key to footlocker (presumeably)
all were coated with a great deal of Chinese mud.
They spent several hours in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Chinese coins, some with English lettering.

So there are a lot of researches to do, and questions to answer.  So far I have Emma's quick work finding websites for identification of US Army insignia, and I have a book:  Finding Your Father's War, by Jonathan Gawne.  Any other suggestions?

If anyone would like to research specific items, I will be very glad to send photographs.  We have to figure out what these things are, and we have to relate these new things with what we already have, such as the jacket of his dress uniform:

The number on his dogtag is    42021053  T43  44 B.
